How it works

Built for two

• Pairing only. You connect to one person by exchanging keys directly — a QR code, face to face or over a call. There is no directory, no discovery, no strangers, no feed.
• Effort you can see. While your person practices, you see “practicing… third try” — never the words, never the stumbles. When the message arrives, you know what it took.
• Your conversation is your curriculum. Every phrase you master goes into a phrasebook built from your life together, and comes back as gentle review while you wait.

Private by architecture, not by promise

We designed the system so that we cannot read your messages, then wrote it down so you can check. Plain-language summary:

Fully-local mode runs coaching and speech on your own machine — nothing about your practice ever leaves it. We publish our complete security design, including what we can see and the honest limits of web-delivered encryption. No ads. No data sale. Ever — that's the business model, not a slogan.

Works where you are

A browser and a microphone is all it takes. Fully-local mode is a desktop feature at present.

Safety, honestly

• 16 and up. Found in Translation is for adults and older teens, consistent with EU and North American law. Age is verified at account creation.
• No strangers by design. With no discovery and no public spaces, the usual abuse surface of messaging apps mostly doesn't exist here.
• You stay in control. Unpair and block instantly. Report a conversation and you may choose to share its contents with us — encryption means disclosure is always yours to decide, never ours.

Try it right now

No account, no email, nothing to install. You'll practice with a private AI partner — pick from a cast of Spanish speakers who are learning English themselves: Sofía in Guadalajara, Mateo in Buenos Aires, Carmen in Sevilla, Joaquín in Santiago (hard mode), and more. Each new language we launch arrives with its own cast, so there's always someone to talk to. Here's exactly what will happen:

1. Open the mock test Use Chrome, Edge, or Safari on a phone or computer with a microphone. (Firefox can't listen yet — you can still type everything.)
2. Claim a seat The alpha is capped at one hundred seats as a hard platform limit. Your browser gets an anonymous ID — that's the entire signup.
3. Allow the microphone, or don't Voice is handled by your browser's built-in speech service (on iPhone it stays on-device; Chrome uses Google's). Only text reaches our coach — Claude, running in our AWS account. The downloadable alpha keeps speech entirely on your own machine.
4. Tell your coach what to say Speak or type in English. The mic is a walkie-talkie: open it, ramble as long as you like — silence never cuts you off — and close it yourself (or just say “that's what I want to say”). The coach reasons over all of it and reads your intent back: “You want to say that…”
5. Learn it, say it, pass the gate Hear the Spanish, read the respelling (KYEH-roh deh-SEER-teh), then say it aloud. Score 70+ means a Spanish speaker would understand you. Miss a word and your coach tells you exactly which sound to fix.
6. Send it — and hear back in your own language Your partner is a learner too: their reply arrives in English — their practiced best effort, accent and all — with their original Spanish right beneath, and how many tries it took them. Each of you crosses the bridge for the other; every message lives in both languages, always.
